Rosamond Campbell, nee Kayes, age 84, formerly of Wilmette, passed away on August 15, 2014, at her home in The Mather of Evanston. She is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Richard J. Campbell; devoted children Jennifer, Rick (Laura), and Andrew (Alice Chen); and grandchildren Cody and Jesse Campbell Pruitt, Emma Campbell, and Ethan, Alexander, Anna, and Lucy Chen Campbell. A native of Brooklyn, NY, Rosamond received her bachelor’s degree from Sarah Lawrence College in New York. Following graduate work at Bank Street College of Education, she taught at the Village and Farm School of Northbrook and the Winnetka Community Nursery School. Skilled in both classical and folk music, Rosamond helped to popularize the mountain dulcimer. She co-founded the Dulcimer Society of Northern Illinois, published three collections of dulcimer music, recorded two CDs, performed at music festivals, and taught privately and at Evanston’s Hogeye Music. Late in life Rosamond returned to her first musical love, the piano, which she had studied at the Julliard School of New York. John R. Howland Born December 6, 1936, age 76 of Chicago, passed away April 19, 2013, in his home surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his beloved wife, Donna L. Fleming, CPD; loving stepfather of Cindy Fleming; Dear grandfather of Alexys Fleming; uncle of many nieces and nephews. An avid Cubs fan, if it takes forever. Preceded in death by his parents, and his daughter, Amy Howland; and his aunt, Dorothy “Dee Dot” Stone. At John’s request, no services will be held.
